Versatile in scrub, tall and short grass

The professional lawn mower with many possible uses. Thanks to its two blade speeds (VarioSpeed), the AS 73 4T B&S is very versatile. With its slow blade speed and high torque on the blade, it can handle dense vegetation up to 150 cm. At the high blade speed with lower torque, it has an excellent cutting pattern and mulching result in low to medium-high grass. When the mower is used in a municipal area, for example, a playground can be mowed just as well as dense vegetation on a disused area. Apart from its low-pressure tires, its cutting width of 73 cm and VarioSpeed, the AS 73 4T B&S is identical to the AS 65 4T B&S. It is equipped with a Briggs & Stratton Series 3 INTEK engine with oil and petrol pump and can mow slopes of up to 35° without the risk of engine damage. If the machine hits a foreign object, the blade clutch protects the motor by separating the motor and blade shaft. A manual 5-speed gearbox with reverse gear (2.4 km/h) transmits the drive with a speed range of 1.6 – 5.1 km/h. Up to 3,700 m² of area can be mowed per hour.

Easy to use and robust construction

Only three levers are needed to operate the machine: blade clutch on the left, parking brake and drive on the right, and unlocking the differential lock on the left. It is particularly easy and intuitive to operate. When you release the drive lever, the automatic parking brake immediately engages and stops the machine safely on a slope. Only when necessary, for example when turning or cornering, is the permanent differential lock briefly unlocked using the control lever – of course without stopping while driving. The handlebar of the AS 73 4T B&S can be adjusted sideways and in height. The cutting height is continuously adjusted in the range of 50 – 100 mm using the front wheel.

Clean cutting pattern thanks to cross blade

The cross blade consists of the main blade and the wing mulching blade mounted above it. A total of four cutting edges cut the grass and undergrowth. Due to the suction effect of the wing blade and the closed mowing deck, the clippings remain in the cutting area for longer and are cut and shredded several times. At the high blade speed of the AS 73 4T B&S, this enables an astonishingly good cutting pattern in low and medium grass.
